  ​National Diabetes Audit (NDA) 2015-16 Submission  
  Practices are reminded that this year they need to submit their own data for the NDA. The process is very easy and all practices have been emailed showing them how to do it. One has to register first – this is termed “Data Landing” by NDA.

If you are still uncertain how to process the submission, please contact your CCG Lead or Daniel Jones, Practice Manager at London Street, Reading (danieljones2@nhs.net) or your Diabetes Lead: The deadline is 12/8/16.
  Talking Therapies for diabetic patients  
  As a reminder, Talking Therapies offer specific psychological support programmes for diabetes patients. They offer a Diabetes Wellbeing Group at different locations across our patch during the day and in the evening.

Patients can also self-refer, mentioning they are diabetic, via: ​Additionally, they now offer an online support programme called the “Space for Diabetes Wellbeing Programme” intended for Type 2 Diabetics. Patients can also self-refer via the website above. This new service enables patients to improve their sense of well-being which in turn can lead to improved motivation and diabetic control.
  Diabetes Alliance for Research in England (DARE) Study  
  DARE is asking interested practices to participate in the following study:

Aim of study: To establish an epidemiologically based sample of all patients with diabetes. DNA will be taken from all consenting patients and genetic information combined with clinical information to provide a resource to look for gene/environment interaction in the development of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and the associated complications.
